Role and Responsibilities:
The Scheduler is responsible for scheduling training devices and classrooms for all purposes within the Comox Search and Rescue Training Centre (TC). This position works in close coordination with the CAE FWSAR Course Coordinator. This position requires efficient work planning, flexibility in a dynamic environment and the capacity to prioritize daily activities as they unfold.
Create a master schedule for all training devices to account for all courses supported within the TC and availability time frames for RCAF member continuation training
Assign CAE/DND instructors to support all TC supported course events
Assign classrooms as required
Receive and assign all unplanned and authorized user’s classroom and device demands
Together with Course Coordinator, resolve scheduling conflicts
Monitor device and classroom status daily and advise Course Coordinator
Monitor device usage to ensure safety and timings are respected
Ensure each session is properly recorded as per approved business process
Ensure any deficiency is recorded and routed as per approved business process
Use judgment and problem solving skills to minimize training interruptions and make optimum use of devices and classrooms; and
Liaise with others for the administration and delivery of all associated FWSAR courseware delivery requirements
Any other associated duties as may be required
Be trained to assist or backfill the Course Coordinator in the completion of their daily tasks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience of the aviation industry and Flight Simulation is desirable
Previous experience working within an RCAF Operational or Training Squadron. Knowledge of Canadian Forces Individual Training & Education System (CFITES), Air Force Integrated Information and Learning Environment (AFIILE) /Defence Learning Network (DLN), Qualification Standards (QS) and Training Plans (TP) desirable
Education – high school as a minimum with 2-5 years related experience
Excellent PC skills (Word, Excel and outlook)
Strong interpersonal skills and team player attitude are essential.

Ability to concentrate and work in a fast paced environment. Readily accepts changes and adjusts accordingly

Be able to hold a Canadian Security Clearance & Controlled Good Clearance
Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen, a Permanent Resident or with a valid Work Permit.
